The Rye Arts Festival is one of the best small festivals in England. Run by and for local people it is now in its 37th year and still going strong. For two weeks in September the town is alive with Classical music, Jazz, Blues and Folk, Comedy, and Literary events bringing the best of the Arts to Rye. In recent years the town has played host to performers such as Humphrey Lyttleton, Susannah York, The Menuhin Grafin Walfisch trio, Eliza Carthy, Lady Antonia Fraser, Nina Conti and the London Bulgarian Choir amongst many others. Some fantastic names have already been lined up for 2008 but you’ll have to wait just a little longer to find out who they are! Watch this Space!
