Passing through wrought iron gates into the Buttermarket, you then ascend through oak doors to the elegant Council Chamber. Here you will find, in gold leaf, the names of Rye's Mayors since 1289. For weddings, the Town Crier is available exclusively to greet your guests and deliver the 'wedding cry'.
